From November 14, 2026, the Swift network will no longer support unstructured postal addresses in CBPR+ payment messages. Payments containing only free text address data will be rejected by the network, halting cross-border flows instantly.
What is Changing?
Going forward, address details must be either fully structured or follow the hybrid format. At a minimum, every message is required to isolate two mandatory structured fields:
- Town Name (<TwnNm>)
- Country Code (<Ctry>) — Must be the 2-letter ISO code.
